PTDI Opens New Opportunities in Malaysia Through 70mm Rocket Offer at DSA 2026
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (21/04) – PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) will once again participate in the 19th international defense exhibition, Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2026, which will take place from April 20-23, 2026, at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Defense, this exhibition is one of the largest defense industry exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific region, showcasing developments in defense technology, the latest hardware systems, and electronic warfare systems.
At this event, PTDI is present in the Indonesia Pavilion under the coordination of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, along with several other national defense industries under the Holding Defend ID. This participation is part of PTDI's strategic efforts to strengthen its position as a key player in the aerospace and defense industry in the region.
PTDI has a long track record in Malaysia. Since 1999, seven CN235-220 aircraft manufactured by PTDI have been operated by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), consisting of one VVIP Military Transport configuration and six Military Transport aircraft. In 2023, PTDI also successfully completed a modification program for three Military Transport aircraft to the Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA) configuration to support Malaysia's maritime surveillance needs.
In addition to providing aircraft platforms, PTDI also consistently ensures the operational readiness (serviceability) of aircraft operated by the RMAF through various after-sales services, including Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO), Service Life Extension Program (SLEP), spare parts support (Follow-on Support), rewiring, modification, and structural and component repairs. This approach reflects PTDI's commitment to providing end-to-end solutions that focus not only on products but also on long-term operational sustainability.
In line with this ongoing support, PTDI also sees various potential collaborations that can be further developed in Malaysia. These opportunities include not only optimizing the CN235-220 platform and after-sales services, but also developing cooperation on the NC212i and N219 aircraft, as well as 70mm rocket systems. This opens up opportunities for broader collaboration to support defense and security needs, while simultaneously strengthening the independence of the defense industry in the region.
"PTDI's participation in DSA 2026 is an important momentum to strengthen our presence in Malaysia as a long-term partner. With a track record of operating the CN235-220 aircraft in the RMAF and experience in various after-sales service programs, PTDI remains committed to providing reliable and sustainable solutions, not only for aircraft products but also for other defense systems such as rockets," said Moh Arif Faisal, Director of Commerce, Technology & Development at PTDI.
